Welcome to Dharma Art Services - the online studios of Buddhist artist Ray Furminger.

I have been a practicing Buddhist for more than 40 years and have been painting thangkas for over 35 years having studied extensively under a master artist.

In 2020, after finding that my eyesight for detail work was starting to fail due to an eye condition (macular degeneration), I made the transition via a very steep learning curve to digitally produced work allowing me to work at high magnification on a screen. These works are what you will see on this website.

December 2023 Update: Due to failing health and continually deteriorating eyesight, I have now reluctantly decided to stop producing any further thangkas. The gallery page, therefore, represents my body of digitally produced work. I will, instead, be focussing my energies on retreat.
