Four Faced Mahakala

A fierce, wrathful form of the enlightened Buddhas who acts as a Dharma Protector, protecting sincere practitioners from inner and outer harm, obstacles and so forth. Sometimes, wrath (the appearance of anger motivated by love and compassion) is required to deal effectively with a person or situation. This particular form of Mahakala is one of the main protectors associated with the Chakrasamvara tantras.
