White AH

This is the symbol of the state of ‘rigpa’ - a Tibetan term indicating the essential nature of mind, also called ‘ordinary mind’ - the profound truth or way of being pointed to by the Buddha.

The Tibetan syllable AH in the centre represents ‘essence rigpa’ - the primordial union of emptiness and clarity, while the rainbow emanating from it symbolizes the unimpeded radiance of the compassionate energy of rigpa. These three aspects - empty essence, nature of clarity and unimpeded radiance - are unborn and unceasing. They are a unity that has never been separate.

Rigpa is non-conceptual and lies beyond all words, concepts and explanations. It is to be experienced directly, firstly as the ‘ground’ (or view), then sustained and stabilized on the ‘path’ (meditation), and finally realized fully as the result or ‘fruit’.

This is the ‘Great Completion’ (Tib. Dzogpa.chenpo). There is nothing beyond this. There is nothing more to do. At this point you are fully enlightened and experience fully all the enlightened qualities inherent in our minds of wisdom, compassion and skilful means. The fulfilment of all your own wishes is complete and your helping to achieve the same for all beings without exception is effortless and spontaneous.

E MA HO. How wonderful, amazing!

NB. This entirely inadequate attempt at explanation is merely words. If you truly wish to experience this yourself, you should seek an authentic lineage holder of the precious Dzogchen teachings and receive instruction.
